Karatina University Library Receives Donations from American Reference Center
Karatina University Library has once again received books and audio visual information materials from the American Reference Center following a successful utilization of audio books given to the University last year. The books which are in various subjects ranging from entrepreneurship, communication, information and communication technology, library science to history and political science are part of the American Rotating Collection which the University has been hosting for over a year now. In addition to the information materials, the donation also included a 32 inch TV and a DVD player to be used to play the audio visual collection. Presenting the collection, the American Reference Center Director, Mr. George Kamau acknowledged the efforts the University had shown in involving the local community in accessing and using the audio books donated previously and hence the reason the Center decided to enhance the collection in the University. In addition, he promised to work with the University to establish an American Space within the University for Mt. Kenya region. Receiving the donations, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mucai Muchiri appreciated the American Reference Center for their continued collaboration with the University in building the rotating collection. He promised the University would work on a strategic plan to actualize the establishment of the American Space at Karatina University. The presentation of the information materials was witnessed by the University Management, the Librarian and students.
